Why Detoxifying Your Body Is Important

The world is a toxic place to live in. The air has harmful gasses; water has chemicals; and the food we eat contains preservatives, pesticides and chemical flavors and colours. More than that, the medicines we take can cause harmful side effects. Though our body can tolerate these impurities, it was not designed to host it. The toxins slow down the natural flow of circulation in our body. It even accumulates in certain parts of our body and causes us to feel sick. Let’s study why it is essential to detoxify our body.

Toxin Builds Up

We know that there is something wrong with our body when we don’t feel well. Good and bad substances don’t go together. When you feel pain or discomfort, your body reacts to the changes introduced to it.

Here are some symptoms that are linked with toxins.

  • Headaches

According to Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s study, headaches are caused by oversensitivity of nerve tissue to chemical irritants. More chemical irritants increase headache pain.

  • Muscle pains & Fatigue

When lactic acids increase and left unused, it causes pain during movement. This also causes you to feel tired and stressed.

  • Memory loss

Based on the Labour Environmental Alliance Society, prolonged or repeated exposure to toxic substances such as Xylene, can cause memory loss. This symptom is also connected with insomnia.

  • Insomnia

Similar to memory loss, exposure to heavy metals and chemicals can cause insomnia. Our exposure to toxic gasses has negative effects to the quality and length of our sleep.

  • Stress

In a recent neuroscience study, it was found that phytochemicals may serve as toxins which stimulate stress at the cellular level.

Detox: Your Best Option

When you start to feel some of the symptoms, consider going on a detox diet before taking in medicine. Unlike detoxification, medicines only provide temporary relief for these symptoms and it doesn’t solve the real cause. On the other hand, you get to experience long term positive effects if you opt to detoxify your body. Detox also rejuvenates your body and keeps you healthy.

Help your body be in its best condition. Take time to rest and cleanse when you feel like toxins are already loading up in your body. Detox will help you stay fit and it will free you from the stress of being unwell.

The Power of Quantum Healing

The power to heal is within you. Unleash this power and help make the healing energy flow.

It is natural for us to get sick. When the weather changes drastically, some of us experience headaches, cough and colds. We can determine the causes of the illness and apply solutions. But before consulting the doctor or even popping a pill for relief, here is a wonder medicine for all kinds of illness. An easy, no side-effect way of being well is through quantum healing.

This popular healing technique is currently used around the world but only a few understand what it truly means. According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, quantum is “any of the very small increments or parcels into which many forms of energy are subdivided”. If we relate it to our physical body, quantum is simply equivalent to our cells. The cells are also known as the building blocks of our body. And these small units of life are often the most ignored factor when we are finding ways to get well.

In order to be healthy, it is important that you start healing the cells. You should first look at the changes within your body that causes the illness before you direct your attention to external factors. This can only be done if you listen to what your body is telling you. Analyze your thoughts, emotions, feelings and energy. Notice how these internal factors affect your body and your surroundings. Quantum healing involves both the mind and body.

It is important to remember that all internal factors have corresponding effects to the body. Dr. Deepak Chopra even stated, “Your body is just the place your memory calls home.” Positive experiences stores good memories in the cells. In turn, the cells function well and positive energy flows naturally to new cells. However, negative experiences will only store bad memories in the cells. The contained negative energy will be trapped in the cells and will block the positive flow of energy.  This build up of negative energy will cause discomfort manifested as pain or other types of illness.

Sometimes your body needs assistance to remove toxins, strengthen the immune system, or to provide trace elements that are hard to source in our diet. It can be difficult sometimes to find reliable high quality sources of natural help. After 12 years of searching, I found help and my body is healthier at 54 than it was at 34!

Be healthy! Heal yourself now by making positive experiences in every way you can. Quantum healing will not only improve your health condition but will heal your whole being. Let the healing energy flow and experience the benefits of good health.

Body Toxins: Your Personal Time Bomb

“No one can hide from toxins. It is present in the things we use, the food we eat and even in the air we breathe.”

Everyone knows that we live in a heavily polluted world. We are exposed to various kinds of toxins that are present in our environment.  We do our best to avoid these substances in order for us to stay healthy. But in reality, we cannot escape from it. The poisonous toxins are present in the things we use, the food we eat and even in the air breathe.

According to scientists, we carry an average of 700 body toxins. These harmful toxins are so small that our body easily absorbs them.  When these toxins accumulate in your body, it can cause various illnesses like low immune system, allergy, constipation, colds, body pains, low energy and skin problems. Other serious conditions like cancer, birth defects and reproductive diseases are also related to high toxic body wastes. These toxins slowly take away the nourishment your body needs while giving it poison at the same time.

So can you get rid of the body toxins? Can you free yourself from the harmful effects of these poisonous wastes in your body? Yes, you can! There are a lot of ways to keep these toxins at bay.

One of the ways to remove toxins is through massage. It increases blood circulation which helps remove the toxins in your bloodstream. More than that, it is an effective way to remove lactic acid build up in your muscle.

Another option is to go to a sauna. The heat from a sauna helps melt the impurities in your body especially the ones stored in the fats. The toxins are released through sweating.

It is also wise to eat healthy. An increase in your fiber intake can help brush off the impurities in your system. Choose organic vegetables and fruits to avoid toxins from pesticides and other food related chemicals.

Hydration is also another effective method. Increased water intake helps release the toxins in your body. Water keeps the cells healthy which reduces the chance for toxin build up.

These tried-and-tested methods will surely help you remove body toxins. However, it is also important to note that doing only one or two of these methods may not totally clean your body from these impurities. A study showed that our body is only equipped to handle small amounts of toxins. Some toxins that are not processed by our body will be stored as fat!

An effective solution to remove all unwanted body waste is to do a full body nutritional cleanse. A nutritional cleanse will flush out the impurities from your body while making sure that you are also nourished. A proper cleansing technique is also a good way to remove fats in your body. It gives you the energy you need to last a day.

With proper care for your body and effective cleansing techniques, you can be sure of a clean and healthier body. Say goodbye to toxins and move one step closer to a longer life.

Fast Track to a Better Health

A regular 9 to 5 job and some personal activities fit perfectly well with our fast paced world.  Most of us have full schedules. We work hard to have a better life, work, status and even a better health. But when almost everything happens in a snap, are you confident that your body can keep up with the pace? Does your body have enough energy and nutrients to keep you going?

Oftentimes, the body’s condition is neglected because we focus our attention on improving our knowledge and skills, attaining work goals and building relationships. Those activities use up most of our time, and because we are not feeling pain or physical discomfort, it is easy to overlook our real physical condition.

It is important to remember that being physically comfortable is not a basis for anyone to say that he is healthy. Feeling well is far different from being well. In reality, “feeling well” is the best excuse that is keeping us from being completely healthy!

According to the World Health Organization, “health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”* . In order for us to be considered healthy, we have to improve our whole self, especially the physical aspect.

Here are some ways to have a better health:

  • Listen to what your body is saying. It is important to know what your body is telling you through feeling and observation. There are times when a person’s mind is active but the body is giving out signs that it needs to rest. Doing what your body doesn’t want to do only creates stress.
  • Condition your body. Do some activities that will prepare your body for routine or repetitious activities. Doing some exercises in the morning can stimulate your body to produce more energy.
  • Listening to instrumental music before you go to sleep relaxes your body.
  • Eat well. Food fuels the body and a balanced diet is the best kind of fuel for the body’s needs. Plan your activities and take the food that will give you the nutrients you’ll need.
  • Cleanse your body to be nutritionally fit.
  • Exercise your brain. A short puzzle or a crossword game each day can do wonders. It helps you to think fast, improve thinking skills and recall information easily.
  • Interact more. Attend events and other social activities to meet more people. This will improve your social and communication skills. It also serves as a holistic activity that can hone various aspects of one’s self.
  • Take breaks. Some people disregard breaks, they think they are a waste of time.  The truth is a short break refreshes a person physically and mentally which helps us to perform better.

Improving your health as a whole can help you reach your goals; choose strategies that will suit you. Start focusing on your health today and you will be amazed how a better health can help you become a better you.

Friday Night Lights

It’s Friday night at Mastery. Do you remember being excited, a little nervous (or a lot nervous), maybe a little compressed or crunchy –you know stiff, trying not to be noticed, unsure, and insecure? That space where you are both afraid of things changing in your life, and excited, in the same moment. That space is the juice of a person who is on a path of growth.
If life is always safe, no risk, no fearful moments, (the “Holy Shit What I am doing here” moments), then we are dying. Everything that is alive, in every moment, is either growing or dying –there is no standing still.
It is the people who show up at Mastery, as each of us did, in all their stuff, all their fears around change and the unknown, that I admire most. Each of us has a choice to stay in our familiar zone (which often is not comfortable), OR to venture into the unknown, with the hope that there is something wonderful for us along the way.
So what are you doing to stretch yourself? How about a Firewalk (Sept 20th-see notice), or that difficult conversation you have been putting off, or just showing up for your Mastery groups meeting. Continue reading

Why Do We Do It?

Personal Development can be hugely rewarding, and brutally frustrating. I have heard many a person who has started down this road wish there was a way to regain their ignorance, only half jesting.
So why do we do it? Better question why do I do it? Because the moments of insight into myself, or another are usually worth the effort.
And even when they are not enough of a reward there are those incredible spontaneous gifts from the universe that confirm the path I am on.
Case in point, this past Sunday was Father’s Day, and I am blessed with a 15 year-old son, who handed me a card with these handwritten words:

“Dad, you’re with me every part of the day, helping me, guiding me and preparing me for when I finally leave and start a life for myself.
You do more for me than I could ever ask for, and even if I don’t always show my thanks, know that I really am grateful for all that you do.
Love, with all my heart, David.” Continue reading

The Power of the Monologue

Where do we get the chance in our day to day lives to fully express ourselves, at full volume, with full on emotions? For most of us –nowhere!
If we grow through risk, if we gain confidence through risk, then we need to risk to keep growing and becoming more confident in our lives. And I think most of you would agree one of the most risky parts of the Mastery is the monologue –and one of the most fulfilling.

Well this past weekend I confirmed in my own mind just how scary and ENLIVENING the monologue is. Since becoming a member of back row
4 years ago (in 2004), I have not performed a monologue at a Mastery workshop — although I have taken advantage of the opportunity at most of our Mastery social events (look for an announcement of our next social event in this issue of the newsletter).

Saturday was intense -I had to keep refocusing on being present in the room –sound familiar?
At the end of the night it was my turn, nervous, sure I would forget what I wanted to say, I rushed the stage with ABANDONMENT and GLEE — on the outside, inside I was a bundle of nerves. Continue reading

Mastery Reflection

As the year comes to a close it is a natural time for reflection. To measure where we have come in this year and to examine our goals still waiting to be realized.
Far too often I focus on the gap (the shortfall) between what I set out to accomplish and where I ended up. If I happen to meet or exceed the goal, well, it is off to the next one, with hardly a nod to the success.

Take time to be aware of progress. It is the forward movement that is truly the measure of our success, however, it only counts if you notice and celebrate the accomplishment.
Every ounce lost, every extra dollar saved or invested, every project closer to completion, every increased second of being present in the moment – celebrate outrageously.

I know each and every Mastery grad has had changes in their life this year. For some it may be a subtle shift of perspective, causing you to see your life in a new way.
For others there have been wholesale changes since your Mastery.
For each of you I encourage you to look at life B.M. and life A.M. (Before Mastery and After Mastery). Continue reading

Mastery Sunday night

- “A strange feeling of elation, lightness and discovery. As if I had just completed a marathon or a test of bravery (like facing a lion or bear), with a group of my best friends — and we won.
I feel like a new person, larger in the world, more powerful, more complete. I am more confident, and the troubles of my day to day world seem distant and smaller.”

A month later — or longer

How much of that indestructibility, that larger, fuller person is left? Are you just as confident in the world? Do your problems still seem as small?

If not, are you still in a Mastery group?
You know, the ones who witnessed, and understand, who you really are.
They saw you on Sunday night, without the masks and layers that hide your light from the world.
Without those reminders it is so easy to forget, to fall back into the old patterns.
After all, we have 15, 20 or 30 or more years of experience with those shells, even if we are now aware that they aren’t so comfortable and often don’t serve us.

It is time to take our lives to an edgier place –outside the comfortable “I know that”. On to the edge.
And it is hard to get there without support. Continue reading

What is the Mastery Experience really about anyway?

Here is my take on it. Mastery is about becoming present to who you are, who and what is around you and what you think about all that. Confusing? Let me simplify it, it is about “seeing” more clearly.

Starting to see yourself as more than the thoughts in your head and the emotions that follow, more than the judgments you hear or give, more than just the point of view that you hold because you decided something, often as a child. “I will never be like you”, or “I want to be just like you” are the kinds of things we decide – often about our parents or other family members.

The Mastery Experience is about starting to see yourself, and others, in the present moment, and to letting go of views based on the past. To open up the present to being different from the past by letting go of thoughts and beliefs that have been keeping you stuck: from your past experiences, things others told you were true, to the mysterious “I just know that “ stuff.
