As the year comes to a close it is a natural time for reflection. To measure where we have come in this year and to examine our goals still waiting to be realized.
Far too often I focus on the gap (the shortfall) between what I set out to accomplish and where I ended up. If I happen to meet or exceed the goal, well, it is off to the next one, with hardly a nod to the success.
Take time to be aware of progress. It is the forward movement that is truly the measure of our success, however, it only counts if you notice and celebrate the accomplishment.
Every ounce lost, every extra dollar saved or invested, every project closer to completion, every increased second of being present in the moment – celebrate outrageously.
I know each and every Mastery grad has had changes in their life this year. For some it may be a subtle shift of perspective, causing you to see your life in a new way.
For others there have been wholesale changes since your Mastery.
For each of you I encourage you to look at life B.M. and life A.M. (Before Mastery and After Mastery).
Celebrate the progress and changes in your life with “Abandonment and Glee”, and celebrate the great force that caused the changes –YOU.
You are a marvel in this universe, and a rarity on this planet. One who is aware of yourself as the source of everything that is showing up in your life, AND open to changing the parts that do not work.
Wherever you are in the journey of your life I want to acknowledge you for the steps you are taking to create more love and joy and happiness for yourself, and those around you.
And keep using this amazing community, that I am so blessed to be a part of, to grow your world and keep it moving towards your goals.
The most beautiful, brilliant, heart-warming people in MY world are Mastery grads.
I give thanks often for the insights of my own group, the Leadership, and more importantly the friendship, of Jill and Larry and the open arms of the 100’s of grads in Alberta that so enrich my life. And of course my lovely partner Shilo and I get to have a Mastery experience every day.
So THANK YOU to the creators and pioneers of Mastery (Dan Fauci, Larry Gilman, Jill Kennedy, Daniel, Marianna, Cat, Andrew, wherever you are), you have enriched my life beyond measure. And I thank you even more for the effect you are having on our children, by allowing us Adults to exorcise our demons and live our lives more fully.
Yeah I have a lot to be thankful for this past year and next year will be even better. But the place to be during the holidays is the present –that is where all the goodies are.
May you and your families enjoy all the presents and presence of this special time of year.
